GUEST ROWER POLICY

DWRA, Detroit Waterfront Rowing Association welcomes guest rowers to join us on The Detroit River and Lake St. Clair. It is a fun way to stay fit while traveling or add a new memory to your vacation. Guest rowers are defined as follows:

  • Member in good standing of a rowing club located outside of a 75-mile radius of the Detroit area

  • Guest needs to sign a DWRA waiver

  • Guests wishing to row must be of a skill level suitable for our bodies of water for participation and determined by the head coach

  • The Visiting Rowers registration fee does not include the use of equipment or water access. Contact Renee Adams for scheduling and fee information.

  • Save on processing fees by paying DWRA directly using Zelle

All guests wishing to use our boathouse facility and equipment need to fill out our application form.

There is a non-refundable fee of $25 (cash (USD) or VENMO, $30 using PayPal or credit cards) and cannot confirm or guarantee that there will be an available member or coach to attend you on a row.   Sculler must row during scheduled practices, clinics or coached session times.

 We cannot confirm or guarantee there will be a member who aligns with your schedule however our members make best efforts to coordinate with guests and genuinely enjoy showing them around our area.

Guest scullers are not permitted to row a single or bow a double or quad outside of a coached session.

If a rower does not fit the Guest Rower definition, they can schedule a private sculling lesson.

For rowers who wish to erg only: after registration there is no fee to use our ergs however a member must be available and present during your workout. This can be arranged by contacting coach Renee Adams, email dwra.org@gmail.com
