Here are some of our amazing programs.


Best way to discover DWRA and rowing. We strongly suggest starting out with a Trial Membership. This program gets you lessons on the water, and the cost goes directly towards a full Annual Rowing Membership (conditions apply)  

DWRA Membership, non rowers   Annual  April 1 – March 31

  • $300  Age 18+

  • Benefits:  member discounts on certain programs, use of boathouse and indoor rowing equipment, socials, family events  

 DWRA Rowing Members  Annual  April 1 – March 31

Unlimited rowing from April 1 – end of rowing season

  • Fee: $750 

  • Benefits:  All member benefits plus member discounts on certain programs.

 

 DWRA Junior Membership  age 12-17   * For juniors enrolled in DWRA programs who have a private boat..                                 

*      Junior membership does not include adult privileges. 

  • Fee: $300  (includes seasonal outdoor storage, April 1- Nov 1) 

  • Boathouse and equipment use restricted to program times, attended by a coach.

 

   DWRA Family Membership  (1) Adult + 1   Annual  April 1 – March 31

  • Fee: $1,250

  • Includes all member benefits

 

 DWRA Young Adult Rowing Member age 18 – 25                                                                     

Unlimited rowing from April 1 – end of rowing season

  • Fee: $500

Adult Year 'Round training

ADULT women & men Indoor rowing for fitness and competition 

Monthly Coached Indoor Rowing for cardio and strength fitness using Concept2 rowing machines. Train for fitness or competition. Emphasis on proper rowing technique. 45 min coached sessions.  Includes core work/ stretching.

ADULT (MASTERS) LEARN-TO-ROW

  • Fee: $275 per person  (4 rower minimum)

 

The program will consist of four or five sessions covering boat handling, water safety, and the fundamentals of rowing.  Participants will be coached in small groups both on the water in boats and on indoor rowing machines. Attendance at the first session is required, and participants should plan to attend all sessions

 

Rowers must furnish written proof that they are water-safe and are able to swim/tread water in open water conditions. Please fill out the and make sure to have your completed before showing up at the first session. The printable forms are available on the FORMS section of this website. 

 

 Before you arrive: 

  • Wear athletic clothing, preferably shorts or spandex along with a T-shirt that you don't mind getting a little dirty/wet. Bring a hat, socks, and sneakers each day (the first day will mostly be on the rowing machines known as 'ergs').

  • Bring a water bottle (plastic only, no stainless steel or metal flask type bottles as they damage the boats).

  • Apply sunscreen (the first day will mostly be inside, but sunscreen is important for the rest of the sessions).

  • Be sure to come with a good attitude and be coachable! Rowing is the ultimate team sport and will be unlike anything you've ever tried. Get ready to have fun! (Don't forget to bring your waiver!)

Rain or Shine!  

Equipment: Life jackets & coastal style boats

Explorers a Learn-to-Row program where rowers learn proper rowing technique and navigation skills while touring the Detroit and Grosse Pointe waterfront including secret island cuts, canals and bridges. The Explorers Crew will experience local wildlife in their natural habitat such as beavers, fox, mink, herons, and turtles, to name a few. Each rower will also learn the water behavior of our river and lake.

1st EXPLORERS for first time rowers

Practices: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays  4-6pm  

6 person minimum, 10 seat max

This group of energetic rowers include beginners to accomplished racers who enjoy the fitness and fun of rowing on a regular schedule

 Discovery Camps for Adult Voyageurs

 

Spring, Summer & Fall        Rain or Shine!  

Voyageurs learn proper rowing technique and navigation skills while touring the Detroit and Grosse Pointe waterfront including secret island cuts, canals and bridges. 
Voyageurs is also a great starting point for athletes who would like to continue into a competitive program for the fun and fast of it.

 

DWRA members enjoy taking a break from daily race practices with “Sunday Nature Rows” along the Detroit, Grosse Pointe and Canadian island shorelines. Similar to the Youth Explorers with additional historical stops along the way. Your coach is open to new adventures if you have suggestions....maybe a full moon evening…..

 

 

Description:  Sundays Voyageur Series are  2.5 hr guided tours in s  3-week series.
Pre-requisite: No experience is necessary for these adventurous tours, however basic water safety skills are recommended.

  • All rowers wear a lifejacket (provided) while rowing in stable open-water style boats.

  • Sessions are rain or shine, following safe weather guidelines.

  • **Rowers must provide (and use )a  personal hat, shirt, sunscreen, water bottle (no metal), towel, shoes and socks, rain gear, snacks

2019  Royal Canadian Henley Youth Performance Camp / Youth Racing

Note: The camp is dedicated to race training specifically for Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.                                                               All athletes enter this program with the knowledge and intention to attend all practices and racing.

          All fees mus be paid in advance.

 

FEE: $335  *includes one entry.
